Pharmacy Faculty Teams Up with PraxiLabs to Open Virtual Lab (Simulation Center)

Last Updated on July 28, 2022 by Sherouk Badr Shehata

In line with the continuous endeavors to keep pace with the State’s approach to digitize education across all of Egypt, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Suez Canal University launches Skills and Simulation Center for students.

One of the most important objectives of this project is to establish a state-of-the-art lab for virtual science education, equipped with the latest computers, smart interactive displays, and strong Internet connection.

And this is where PraxiLabs virtual labs come in. On Wednesday, December 8, 2020, the Faculty of Pharmacy organised a visit to the center in the presence of Prof. Dr. Dina Abu El-Maaty, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Ghada Makkawi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs and Executive Director of the project.

During the visit Eng. Amr El-Gamal – PraxiLabs representative – clarified the importance of virtual lab simulations, a practical 3D learning environment that allows students to complete their lab experiments for physics, chemistry, and biology online and explore scientific concepts and theories without entering a real science lab.

Virtual lab simulations in PraxiLabs also give educational content integration, making it easier for students to understand the steps of conducting experiments while providing them with additional information at the same time. This way professors can provide an interactive virtual lab learning experience and rich content to support students with more knowledge.

We would like to thank the Faculty of Pharmacy, Suez Canal University, Prof. Dr. Ghada Mekkawy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs and Executive Director of the Skills and Simulation Center project, for hosting PraxiLabs team, and their constant quest to build up highly competitive students by providing the best education for our future pharmacists.
